Pastime Tournaments Baseball App

This app provides direct access to tournament schedules & standings, weather updates, and contact information for Pastime Tournaments events.

Download in the app store.

Pastime Tournaments has been on a fast track to hosting some of the top baseball tournaments across the country.  2006 brought ten tournaments between Indiana University, Parkland College and Oklahoma State University with just over 85 teams in attendance from 12-15 different states across the country.  With the quality of events and a focus on providing teams with the ability to compete on top notch collegiate facilities, an overwhelming response from teams and collegiate coaches came in requesting that they expand tournament locations.

Fast forward to now.

The 2011 season broke attendance records for the 6th consecutive year.  Over 2100 teams attended tournaments from 20+ different states with events held in 13 different states across the country.  A new National Champion was crowned at the 16U National Championships (Tennessee Baseball Club) and at our 14U National Championships (Ohio Elite).  The Ohio Warhawks repeated as the 18U National Champions at Victory Field in Indianapolis, IN.  This was the first year for the 14U Nationals and it was a huge success with over 30 teams in attendance, 30+ at the 16U Nationals, and 80+ at the 18U Nationals again.

Maker of Facebook and Logitech Supply Vending Machines Hires Boost.

We are excited to be working with IVM, Inc on new mobile app technology for their supply vending machines.  The basic and most popular product of the IVM Automated Dispensing System is the vending machine, an industry standard helical machine. This system provides secure, controlled access to supplies by requiring an employee to be authorized before dispensing any product. Access is gained through use of a PIN, a magnetic stripe card, proximately card, or barcode (including invisible barcode). An employee simply walks up to the machine, authorizes via use of PIN or employee badge, and chooses the product they need to complete their duties. Beyond authorization to access the supply vending machine, restrictions can be enabled based on employee or product.

Newest weapon in the deer-hunting arsenal: A smartphone

Hunters find handy tool in new mobile app

Avid hunting enthusiast Gus Saucerman searched for a smartphone app to aid him in the field during hunts. Not finding anything worthwhile, he decided to create one himself.

Naturally, he came to Indiana’s leading app developer, Boost Media & Entertainment.

After some brainstorming and testing, out came “Deer Diary, the App for Hunters,” and its companion website, DeerDiary.com, which synchronizes information with the app.

“Deer Diary” lets the hunter capture everything about a hunt: weather, photos, notes and, much like Foursquare, allows hunters to “check in” at their favorite tree stand or other hunting spot. The app travels with the hunter right into the field, allowing him or her to access and record information anywhere and tap into the shared knowledge of fellow hunting enthusiasts.

Back at the lodge (or living room), hunters can relive their hunts and learn from past successes and failures, gleaning knowledge and tips from other hunters who have left notes in the app.

“Successful hunters know their surroundings and understand the conditions that make for the best hunts. With ‘Deer Diary,’ it’s easy to record these conditions, see patterns and ultimately become more effective on the hunt,” said the app’s owner and creator, Gus Saucerman.

On partnering with Boost, Saucerman said, “I couldn’t have done it without them. They had creative input every step of the way, from branding to features to the companion site. Plus, they made an app that works well. Hunters are loving it.” “Deer Diary” is available now in both the Android App Market and Apple’s App Store.

SMARTPHONE USERS SET TO PLAY LOCATION-BASED GAME AT THE 2011 INDIANA STATE FAIR

Similar to popular location-based games like SCVNGR and Gowalla, Indy based digital marketing agency Boost Media & Entertainment and Publicis Indianapolis have partnered to create an innovative mobile game that will be played at the Indiana State Fair.

The game is called BeanGo, and coincides with this year’s fair theme, “The Year of Soybeans.”

There are eight bean statues distributed throughout the fairgrounds. Players use smartphones to find the statues, where they’ll discover clues to help them solve puzzles in the game. Once a puzzle is solved, a square on the in-game “Bean Card” is completed. Once three squares in a row are completed, players display their app at the soybean display in the Pioneer Our Land Pavilion to win prizes.

Prizes include a free milkshake, pork burger or all-beef hot dog. If all eight squares are completed, players receive a secret prize.

“With millions of people already playing location-based games on their smartphones, we thought our own game would be great for this year’s fair,” said Hannah Brescher of the Indiana Soybean Alliance, the app’s sponsor. “We’re very pleased with how it’s turned out.”

BeanGo also includes a State Fair map and connection with the Soybean Alliance’s mascot Bennie the Bean’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. In another innovative feature, app users “shake” Bennie (by shaking their phones) to get him to share fun soybean facts.

BeanGo is available now in both the Android App Market and Apple’s App Store.

According to SCVNGR, over 1000 companies, universities and organizations nationwide have commissioned location-based games like BeanGo.

For more information about Boost and its projects and services, please contact Jason Zickler at jzickler@boostmediaentertainment.com or call 317.624.0300.

HINCHCLIFFE GOING MOBILE WITH INNOVATIVE NEW DRIVER APP

Hinchtown Mobile helps fans get even closer to talented IZOD IndyCar Series rookie

INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 – Rising IZOD IndyCar Series star James Hinchcliffe launched a cutting-edge, unique driver mobile application July 5, allowing fans to interact with the popular “Hinch” even when their busy lives reach top speed.

Hinchtown Mobile is free and available for download at the Apple App Store and Android Market. It’s believed to be the first driver app in major motorsports.

2010 Firestone Indy Lights series runner-up Hinchcliffe drives for Newman/Haas Racing in his rookie season in the IZOD IndyCar Series, North America’s top open-wheel racing series. He is the second-highest rookie in the standings entering the Honda Indy Toronto, Sunday, July 10 on the streets of his hometown.

“I’m really excited about Hinchtown Mobile,” Hinchcliffe said. “I’ve gone all out to use the Web and social media to connect with fans for the last few years, which is really important to me. That’s been a big success, so the launch of my mobile app is taking my relationship with the fans to an all-new level of interaction.”

Hinchcliffe is one of the most innovative, creative drivers in the use of digital and social media. He is the “mayor of this little Internet civilization known as Hinchtown” at his unique website, www.hinchtown.com.

The site features features complete integration with Hinchcliffe’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter feed, all of which he updates regularly to provide entertaining content to fans and sponsors.

Hinchtown Mobile will include links to all of Hinchcliffe’s existing virtual content and channels. But the interactive app also offers exclusive elements. For example, fans attending the race this weekend in Toronto can download a “Key to the City” and get free admission to the Hinchtown After Party.

Hinchcliffe helped to develop the mobile app with sports marketing and consulting specialists GRand Solutions LLC and digital marketing agency Boost Media Entertainment, both based in Indianapolis. GRand Solutions has managed the marketing and activation efforts for Hinchcliffe since March.

“It’s not surprising that Hinch is the first driver to launch a mobile app,” said Ruthie Forbes, co-founder of GRand Solutions. “He’s always thinking one step ahead when it comes to connecting with fans and sponsors in digital media. I’ve never seen a driver more plugged into the power of virtual solutions.”

While Hinchtown Mobile is their first driver app, GRand and Boost teamed up to create and launch an Android app for Texas Motor Speedway in June 2011. It was one of the first apps for a major racing facility.

GRand formed a partnership with Boost Media Entertainment in February to represent Boost’s innovative mobile products in the motorsports marketplace.

“Hinchtown Mobile is a great example of how GRand’s partnership with Boost Media can help keep our clients on the leading edge by offering unique, nimble and efficient solutions through online and mobile technology,” said Gene Cottingham, co-founder of GRand Solutions. “This technology works for everyone in motorsports – drivers, teams, event and track promoters and sponsors.”
