Blog? Website? Whatever it is, at least it won’t stick in your teeth.

Perhaps he’s interviewed you about your nightlife, or you’ve caught his “On the Town” webisodes chronicling nudists, brewers and all stripe of interesting Hoosier. Wherever it might’ve been, if you’ve spent much time in Indianapolis at all, you’ve probably come across Taffy, aka Neal Taflinger. http://www.nealtaflinger.com/ And Taffy’s up to something new, he’s parted ways with the Indianapolis Star, deciding the best way to cover the state he loves is on his own, with a new website where all the culture, crazies and coolness that Indiana has to offer can come to find an audience. Ever supportive of local culture, Boost built him his site, and befitting the subject matter, we used a non-traditional method. The site is actually a blog. With our ability to customize a blog to include everything Taffy needed, why not? It’s easy to use, affordable, and plugs right into RSS readers and social networking sites. So next time you need a website, maybe you really need a blog. Ask us to find out which will work best for you. http://www.nealtaflinger.com/ Labels: blogger, boost, Boost Media, i, indiana, Indiana web, indianapolis, indianapolis star, indianapolis web, internet, Well Designed

Fine Art, New Media
posted by Jason Zickler: 9.24.2009 @ 3:30 PM
Boost takes a world-class gallery online Evan Lurie knows art. He owns a number of exclusive galleries from Mimi to LA, as well as his beautiful Evan Lurie Gallery in the Arts District of Carmel Indiana. Walk into this showcase and you’ll be treated to some of the most striking—and most valuable—work by today’s most interesting artists. So we were of course quite proud that he asked us to take his collection online. Is the site we built a work of art? Well, we’ll let you decide. But it does feature clean design, a slick virtual gallery, as well as a masters’ course worth of gorgeous art. http://www.evanluriegallery.com/ Labels: Indiana web, indianapolis, indianapolis web, internet, social media, social network, technology

Let the fiesta begin.

We recently completed a web redesign project with Chi-Chi’s, popular maker of grocery-bought Mexican foods, including their world famous salsa. Chi-Chi’s is greatly expanding its online presence with new forays into the social media site Facebook, viral videos on Youtube, and fun flash games and online greeting cards. With the increased traffic generated by these projects, Chi-Chi’s turned to Boost to design a fresh new look on its website, Chi-Chi’s.com. Salsa is now the best selling condiment in America, and Chi-Chi’s is capitalizing on this boom by offering over a dozen varieties of salsa, as well as complimentary lines of tortillas, chips, seasonings, mixes, peppers, and even complete microwaveable meals. Chi-Chi’s is owned by 117 year-old staple of the consumer goods industry, Hormel Foods Corporation. Optimism in Real Estate?
posted by vinnie: 8.25.2009 @ 9:54 AM
Real Estate has been in the news for the wrong reasons for a while now, so we’re excited to see that one of our clients, the Indiana Association of REALTORS® (IAR), is receiving some positive press for a change. Inside Indiana Business with Gerry Dick has picked up the story of IAR’s Indiana Real Estate Markets Report, an ambitious project to extract as much hard data as possible from the current market. This is being done so the slump, and (hopefully near) recovery can be studied and understood. From the Inside Indiana Business article: “The decline in sales is slowing and when compared with a year ago, sales have not declined as much as they did in the first half of the year,” said Karl Berron, Chief Executive Officer. “This indicates that we may be near or at the bottom of this challenging period. Combined with the signs of the overall economy, there is cause for optimism.” To help spread the word for our clients, Boost has created a new website called Indiana is Home, we’re you can get all the latest info about everything related to the Indiana markets, including the 8k tax break and other incentives, as well as all the latest reports. The site also features two webisode series, one in which our celebrity host Pat Carlini visits the homes of some famous Hoosiers including former Colt and Super Bowl Champion Ken Dilger, and Indiana 1st Lady Cheri Daniels. The other web series features what we’re calling Reportisodes, and they take a lighthearted approach to explaining what is found in the monthly reports. Our Africa Water is Life Promotion with Starbucks
posted by Jason Zickler: 8.24.2009 @ 9:06 PM
Africa Water is Life presented a one-day, in-store promotion at 13 Starbucks locations in Castleton, Carmel and Fishers on Friday, August 21st. To commemorate World Water Week, Africa Water is Life is teaming up with Indiana rock band The Elms to encourage people to join the cause, recruit friends and give to the water crisis in Africa. Users were encouraged to stop in one of the listed Starbucks, pick up a download card, and learn how you can get involved. The song, " This is How The World Will End" from The Elms' latest album The Great American Midrange is a FREE download! http://www.africawaterislife.com/theelms/It is a personal project for one of us: our Creative Manager Vinnie traveled to Sierra Leone—one of the most impoverished countries in the world—to capture video for this organization, some of which you’ll see on the download page. It is the first of many projects that are to come out of this, a trip that he’ll never forget. posted by Jason Zickler: 8.17.2009 @ 7:03 PM
Our favorite pizza company (not to mention long-time client!) Palermo’s, came to us looking for a quick way to grow their already large fan club, La Famiglia. So we built a simple to use online form where users can enter to win some distinctly Italian conveyances—a Vespa scooter and Bianchi bicycles—as well as some snazzy Palermo’s team racing gear. Would you like to grow your fan club? Or even just an email list of customers that you can keep in touch with? Give us a call, we’ve got some ideas. Until then, Arrivederci! http://palermospizza.com/summer-sweepstakes/Labels: advergaming, blogger, boost, Boost Media, Branding, Indiana web, indianapolis web, internet, online community, social media, social network, Well Designed

Boost at SIGGRAPH 2009
posted by Josh Corken: 8.14.2009 @ 1:15 PM
Last week was that time of the year again, when everyone packs their nerdiest shirts, sketchbooks, demo reels, resumes, and computers for a week full of computer graphics and interactive techniques! And let me just say, this is probably my favorite time of the year. You could call it my Christmas. I'm talking about a little conference called SIGGRAPH! Well, to be honest it's not small at all. The Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques, shortened to SIGGRAPH for obvious reasons, got its start in 1974 and has grown to see attendance numbers rise to 40,000 people. That's a lot of computer geeks! This year, the city of New Orleans, LA will be hosting the 36th international conference. But we couldn't be more proud of what we do. Yes, we may be a geek in your mind, but we fit right in at SIGGRAPH! But why go to this? What do you learn and how can you spend an entire week there? So, why attend SIGGRAPH?SIGGRAPH has a long standing history of being a showcase for cutting edge displays of the newest animation, architectural, illustrative, editing and design software and much more. In addition to an extremely impressive roster of industry-leading exhibitors such as Pixar, Lucas Film, Autodesk, Disney Animation, Google, Sony, and ILM, to name a few, it consistently brings the audience engaging programming and events. So, let me ask you this: Why the heck not?! What did Josh do at SIGGRAPH?For any of you who don't know, I'm a student, so naturally I was a student volunteer at the conference, the lifeblood and driving force that keeps SIGGRAPH going year to year! I'm proud to say this is my third SIGGRAPH and my second time volunteering. Take my word for it, my fellow student volunteers are some of the greatest, most talented, generous, kind-hearted, and downright awesome people you and I will ever meet! Trust me, I don't say that often. That should speak generally for the type of people who occupy this industry, for that matter. What comes next?As the week progressed, I was taking very detailed notes about everything that happened via my blog. And let me tell you a little secret. Come closer so you can hear me. Ok, that's good... Some of the stuff shared at this conference is never shown again or open to the public! On top of that, I wrote a few posts for the well-known Computer Graphics World, so make sure you check that out if you're really bored. But, the same information will be in both. Stay tuned because I'll be sharing some of that top secret information with you here in the coming weeks. Don't miss out! Labels: Computer Graphic, Computers, New Orleans, SIGGRAPH
