Cold Scoops Comin’ at Ya

An institution in the baked goods industry since 1902, Richmond Baking is moving into a new market: Inclusions–those tasty bits mixed into ice cream–and was looking for an online solution to spread the word.  Boost designed and developed Brain Freeze to engage ice cream industry buyers, and educate them about RB’s offerings.

The project’s ultimate goal is to attract industry folks to Richmond Baking’s booth at an upcoming trade show in Chicago.

To this end, we produced Brain Freeze a fast and fun advergame featuring three zany cartoon characters along with an avalanche of ice cream.

Advergaming represents a new trend in marketing that is challenging traditional views on videogames.  Instead of developing a game to sell, an advergame is created specifically as a medium for reaching customers.  Users can play the game online for free as much as they like; the payoff is that they receive passive advertising in the process.

As for the trade show, RB reported “massive traffic,” adding that more people visited their booth then ever before.
